If a man wins the seal of an ennobled lord,
he has not walked this world for nothing;
yet to retire when the work is done, to roam the mists and crags and sing untamed,
to cast off the purple gauze robe—
that is the true man's way.
Interpretation
After great success is achieved, you may be ennobled or retire to the hills and woods; to choose the latter is the conduct of a true, great man.
